The juiciest, for me, is the story about how the first children of Tom Cruise came about. His wife, Nicole Kidman, was having issues with her fertility. Repeated IVF treatments failed to result in viable pregnancies, although they did have several miscarriages. The couple then decided to adopt.
The couple did not go through any known agencies, instead opting for a more ‘informal adoption’ process. Now as the story goes, these children, Connor and Isabella? They weren’t exactly “adopted” as much as they were Cruise’s children fathered by low-ranking members of the Scientology cult he was a leading member of. Absorbed more with work, religion and “extracurricullar activities” within the cult, you could say Cruise went… a little overboard. It also mattered to him that his children were ‘his blood’, ego still playing a part in things. They had to have Cruise DNA.
When he finally decided to leave Nicole Kidman, she had unsurprisingly and against all odds, fallen pregnant with a ‘miracle baby’. The shock of the sudden divorce caused her to miscarry. Tom Cruise is… kind of a major douchebag.
